The Preliminary Site Plan incorporates elements from the original concepts that residents identified as priorities during the multiple open houses, including a larger lazy river, an 8-lane competition pool, updated family-friendly amenities, and other enhancements designed to serve residents of all ages.

However, this project is much more than just a pool. The plan also includes a small Parks Maintenance facility with a dedicated employee lunchroom, locker room, and garage space for staff who maintain not only the aquatic center, but also all of Central Park and the extensive trail system within the park. These improvements will provide the operational support necessary to efficiently maintain one of the City’s most heavily used recreational assets – Central Park.

It is also important to note that any funding generated through a potential ballot measure can only be used for projects outlined on the ballot measure and cannot be diverted to the City’s General Fund or used for unrelated City operations. The Parks and Recreation Department has its own dedicated funding source, ensuring that revenues generated for this potential initiative remain dedicated to improving recreational facilities, park infrastructure, and community amenities as approved by voters.

By combining aquatic facility improvements with enhanced parks maintenance operations, additional parking, and a year-round community programming space, the project represents a comprehensive investment in Central Park and the quality-of-life amenities residents have consistently identified as important to Chesterfield’s future. This is not simply an investment in a pool; it is an investment in recreation, a community gathering space, park maintenance infrastructure, and pool amenities that will serve residents for generations to come.
