At the recent City Council meeting, FGMA presented their two preliminary site plans based on in-person feedback, open houses and surveys to date.
The City Council voted to move forward with Preliminary Site Plan 2 on May 12, 2026.

The initial concepts were developed using the City’s feasibility study, market research and community survey feedback, then refined with input from more than 90 residents who attended the March 2026 Open Houses.
The City Council used that feedback to determine next steps and develop the preliminary site plan.

From September 25 to October 27, 2025, FGMA and The Sports Facilities Companies conducted a public opinion survey.
Our design team developed several concepts, based on the survey results, that included expanding the lap pool, upgrading fitness and wellness spaces for residents who walk the river, reimagining fun and kid-friendly areas, and creating flexible spaces for special events and birthday parties. These design ideas, addressing the items survey respondents said were essential, were showcased at the Open Houses during March 2026.

During the winter of 2024-2025, ETC Institute administered a parks, recreation, and arts survey for the City of Chesterfield. The purpose of the survey was to improve the quality of City services and to identify priorities for the Community.

In the Spring of 2023, the City of Chesterfield, Capri Pools and Aquatics and Waters Edge Aquatic Design embarked on creating the city’s first feasibility study for the Chesterfield Family Aquatic Center (CFAC).
The purpose of the study was to develop a data-driven guide for CFAC's future.
The feasibility study evaluated the facility's current condition, determined future expansion needs, documented the community's priorities, and identified potential opportunities for CFAC's future.
The study process involved public engagement along with strategic interactions with the Chesterfield Parks, Recreation and Arts department staff and city advisory committees.
